Reuse, Recycle and Regenerate:
This work is about how we view and relate to the land. The four classical elements: earth, water, air and fire are blended together in a composition we call nature. Nature creates an environment that enables life to survive.
This series investigates the conflict between the apparently static land and the forces of human involvement that are part of a cycle that regenerates the earth in a harmonious manner. My images resonate and visually highlight this harmonious relationship as well as touch upon the underlying conflict between nature and man. These images look to the essence of a landscape as to what is most profound and spiritual about this planet that we inhabit.
The human imprint illustrates our need for the land and its resources as a means of survival. The constant shifting of the elements destroys, transforms, renews, invigorates and regenerates nature. We have a symbiotic relationship with the land and are dependent on it for survival, but we are also stewards of the land. The message in these photographs is not only about seeing the land, but being aware of the future of the planet and connecting to an attitude of preservation and protection.
